Apologies accepted and thank you.

Life is full of discoveries e-mail Facebook and Forums are public and totally open. Ones like this are also a community, comments need to be made with respect. Comments made should be made with this in mind no matter how humorous in your head.

Believe me I sometimes want to make comments as I’m sure many of us do. They would all be taken out of context and probably cause offence no matter how humorous you think the post is. Not to mention typos that put a whole different slant on your comments. Save them for the pub with your mates its safer!

This is my first interaction with forums for this very reason.

Anyway back to the thread I’m listening to the new system now will post later about my thoughts. All I will say so far are the speakers are tiny!! Both like new!!

Come on Boggit, I'm waiting to go to bed!

Hi Ater looking and reading on this forum for 6 months I think im ready to upgrade. Was looking at the Rega Brio R then the Arcam A19 come along then i read PP post about the Leema Pulse and i was hooked. A Pulse has just become available here in Cheltenham 2nd hand. I was thinking of buying some IPL Accustics M1tl transmission line kit as ive heard brilliant things. But the same chap has some PMC db1i's for sale also. Is the Leema a good choice and will they match the PMC's. I listen to things like modern folk, Eric clapton, just found Joe Bonamasor though here Muse, etc etc. Potential room is 4.5x3.5M I find my present setup a little bright sometimes shrill, Im after a richer sound bigger soundstage better seperation of instruments les fatigueing, but most of all more enjoyable and fun. What are your thoughts? Will this setup deliver as i can not demo cost for both around £925.

Hi Boggit of topic I know but have you heard Joe Bonamassa 's live acoustic set an acoustic evening at the Vienna Opera house I realy love it and would highly recomend it

OK

So my first impressions so far. Been delaying writing this as I’m not totally sure what I’ve got yet, having said that when I went to the HiFi show at Bristol I was not blown away by any system. The Heed room was good, and another room with a company I cannot remember or have not heard of, using some mono blocks with a red glow! They were good.

Bearing in mind the speakers were balanced on each arm of the sofa opposite me as I don’t have any stands yet.

(The DB1i’s are very small!) Although that does not seem to stop them producing a huge sound.

First thing I did was hook the Leema up to the Kef’s, first thing I noticed was the bass was far more pronounced and much tighter.

I then added the PMC’s I was not instantly blown away maybe I was expecting miracles.

Certainly the bass was even tighter and more controlled, still a little bright though.

The other thing I noticed after about half an hour I started to notice my knees and feet jumping up and down with the music.

I can also play the music much louder without a problem.

It also has a wider and better separated soundstage, I was starting to hear the odd instrument or voice coming from the periphery.

Very enjoyable though.

I wish I could wax lyrical but not just yet. I may take the day off tomorrow to get some stands and have a further play.

Once again thanks for all your invaluable input so far and I hope I can give you some more definitive news shortly.

No pressure Boggit...

My immediate thoughts are; I'm surprised you found them as good as you did with them just balancing on the arms of the sofa!

I'm sure you will hear a noticeable difference with them placed on proper stands.

Off to bed now and look forward to next installment tomorrow.

I actually sold my squeezebox to fund my Db1i purchase, yes there was a difference, but probably not a major difference in what the £500 price gap suggests.i would love to know what you think once you get your stands.

Not surprising. Please don't beat yourself up. Good quality hi-fi speakers are not designed for cupboards or armchairs. Heavy stands like Partington or Kudos, and place them about 12" from the back wall. To get the most of separation they need to be at least 6' apart. Do this and they should sing with the Leema.

That's late for me... normally up at 5.30 when going to work.

Hope you've had some luck with finding some stands.

Day 2 and all I can say is wow and wow.

Started looking for speaker stands, listening to the radio, normally I don’t like the radio through the hifi preferring the Play 5 but it sounded OK in fact brilliant airy normal radio sounding but much better.

So I switch back and forward to the Rotel Kef yes the Leema was better but not by as much as I’d hoped.

Went off to pick up the stands, assembled them, put them in place mucked about with various position booming to start with too near rear wall, then......

It just sounded brilliant ( my speaker disapeared) I’ve had Passenger, Joe Bonamassa, Neil Diamond (love him) REM, Muse, Eric Clapton, Artic Monkeys, all in my front room. I heard Dire Straits Sultans of Swing on the radio this morning so I thought I’d give it a whirl I was taken aback it was so fast and tight it shocked me sounded superb

Everthing was so enjoyable pacey fun and god can it go loud, I had goose bumps!! I’m still listening to it know.

Mrs boggit likes new look as well “ I hated those old things”

So after last nights debacle today has been very positive I love the setup so loud controlled and just everything!
