Recently got a ps3 and after only useing it a few times on my pioneer 506xde it started to burn images on the screen but go aftre a few days. I was told that lcd screens are better for gameing for less burn so looking for a cheap lcd for the bed room looking for a 42" and seen the philips 42pfl5522 for less than £700 but seen no reviews for it can someone help or give me some others to look at for about the same price. thanks

Hello Cooper,

I just got a Samsung LE40M86 from Curry's, the PS3 looks great on it. The list price in store was £1150 or close, I was told that included a DVD recorder. I said I didn't want the recorder and said that I wanted them to match their internet price (£999). They said ok. Then I said hold on you're part of the Dixons group, they sell it for £900 online and after haggling I managed to get it for that.

I got the PS3 connected with a Chord Company Silver HDMI cable. The results are great. MotorStorm and the Grand Turismo HD demo look increadible. Blu-Ray dvd's are great. Upscaled dvd's are pretty good on the whole. The only problem I discovered was Casino Royale, when Bond walked past a very detailed background in a dark scene a small amount of pixelation occured. But this may be down to me having it in a wrong mode or setting. There are loads of options in the menu's (which are very well laid out and clear). Regular tv from a Virgin Media cable box is good. The BBC and main ITV channels all have good quality pictures, the more obscure channels aren't so good but that just the channels I think.

If PS3 is going to be your main source, I think this is a great choice.

Good luck with your choice.
