KVM Extenders

I am looking to move my pc to a remote position but want to keep the monitor in its current position. I have tried a plain VGA extender cable but that wasnt at all successful...losses or distortion etc etc. Thinking of a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) extender and wondering if anyone uses them and can recommend a particular model. Minimum resolution, 1440 x 900....more is better

Thanks for the link genfish....Checked out Ebuyer but they do not meet the specs that I require...
