Kuro defaulting to Auto picture size

My lovely KRP500 defaults to "Auto" picture setting, even on HDMI feeds from my bdp and cable box, which are set to 1080P and 1080i. I keep having to reset it to dot by dot, to get perfect picture reproduction. Maybe I've missed it somewhere, but is there some way of overriding this so that it defaults to dot by dot? Any Kuro owners out there know the answer to this?

My 5090 does the same actually. Haven't looked into it really as I only use Dot for Dot when watching Blu-Rays and a couple of presses on the Aspect button gets you there.
