Hi can any owners tell me if you can wear the X10's with the cable over your ears like say the Shure's can be worn. I need new in ear headphones and fancied a change from my current Shure se 110, I can spend around the £200 Mark and I will use them every day and in bed. I find I can wear the shure's and still put my ear on a pillow and sleep, so any recommendations are welcome or shall I just buy the Se 535's. I look forward to your answers. Nick

No I do not think they are designed for that,

The X10s had/have a problem with the strain reliefs splitting so lying in on them in bed is not a good idea. I had my original X10s replaced because of this splitting.

The Klipsch Custom range do wrap over the ear and the custom 3's get good reviews, some prefer the sound to the X10s.

I have custom 1s for when I am exercising, they are comfortable ( and safer to use when falling asleep ).

Cheers

Sorry I have not listened to any Shure headphones so can not comment on that. Like all these things the best thing to do would be to compare youself but unfortunately I do not know of anywhere that does auditions for earphones.

Don't let the X10 splitting problem put you off too much as my replacements are meant to be the new improved version that fixes the problem - so far so good. They are really good earphones very light and the sound quality is fantastic.

Thanks Mr Mellie I'm not douting the sound or build quality it's just that I don't think I can use them if they just stick out from your ears, I am a bad sleeper and use my shure's every night in bed to get to sleep or back to sleep when I wake.
