I read with interest the review for the Klipsch iGroove HG and thought yes I'm having one of those - alas I am disappointed to say the least...

Im not sure what constitutes 5 stars but in my humble opinion its barely worth 3. I find the sound quality poor, with a poor midrange, woolly base and a treble that at times is very hard on the ears. The whole sound just does not seem to gel well at all. I purchased the unit from Argos yesterday and tried returning it today but alas they refuse as I've opened the unit so it looks like I'm stuck with it.

I just hope it improves with age, although I doubt it very much!!

Sorry you're not happy but we fear you might have to lower your expectations a touch! We think it's well worth five stars for the money. If, as it sounds, you're a little more discerning then you might want to spend a touch more for something like the Zeppelin Mini. There's plenty of bass there undoubtedly but that's normally fairly welcome for an iPod dock around this price!

Well I'm going to continue to disagree with you Joe.

Let me put a little bit of perspective to my argument - There is bass yes, albeit it's not that well defined and woolly, the treble sounds so far detached from what is actually being presented to you that it makes the whole sound unbalanced and harsh, dare I even say a tad tiny... I have for my laptop a set of Logitech Z4 speakers and they blow away the sound quality when compared to the Klipsch, I know it's a different beast and it can't charge the pod but at half the price of the Klipsch it does a much better job and not that bad on the eye either. If Logitech can achieve this level of sound for nearly half the price of the Klipsch then dare I say the Klipsch is overpriced.

Alas I think I will have to save my pennies again and opt for the Zeppelin and in the meantime try and fall in love with the Klipsch, although I think a divorce is inevitable....
