In my room, I find that the sorround sound effects are more focused with just a 3 point calibration, instead of the full 9 point calibration that comes in your new avr. If you mostly watch alone, then best to keep the microphone in your single seating position and do the 3 point calibration without changing its position. This will give you the best possible surround sound from your setup.
