Hey Guys...

Ok...Starting a new topic on this long forgotten amp...:))

I've had my Kelvin labs Class A amp for around 10 years now..paired with my

Kef IQ5's..Its a fantastic amplifier still in tip-top condition for its 20+ years of age..

ANYBODY know ANYTHING about this amp...All I know is,it was made by a small 'cottage company'

down in southhampton in the late 80's and the co-founders went on to work at AVI...

I've come to the conclusion that I may be one of the last few owners of this wonderful amp,as

I've scoured E-bay and other forums, but yet to find another owner...:O...

I'm looking at getting it fully serviced shortly,Jus to make sure the high heat it kicks out of it's huge heat sinks

Is'nt damging the aging PCM boards,Transistors, capacitors Etc...An hopefully get a few more years out of it..!!

Cheers peeps...:)

Best bet would be to try and contact a specialist amp doctor for some advice - LondonSound have a place up in Harrow I think. The guy there has been in the trade for years and knows most if not all the old brands. You could try the likes of Audiokarma who have a wide range of guys there who might know - that'd be my first port of call I think.

I've jus sent an e-mail to Londonsound and have just registered n posted a thread on Audiokarma...!Be nice to know if anyone else out there has owned one..or even better..has still got one...:).

Hopefully. I'll get a few more replies..as I'm sure some of the 'older generation' has seen them come and go..

All the best..

Hi guys. I have a Kelvin Integrated, had it from new (sn INT/8903), i guess its an early one & it's been working perfectly all these yrs. Have had/used other amplifiers over the years but still come back to the Kelvin. It's currently powering an old pair of Kef's (sometimes Tannoy dc2000's) in my home studio. The detail i get from the Kelvin is fantastic, although sometimes lacks bottom end. Yes, it does get VERY hot, but kept well ventilated seems to be ok, have checked the boards, cap's etc in mine & no signs of heat damage at all.

Be nice to hear from from fellow users.

Ernie.
