Under Best Buys, style speaker packages, the Kef KHT3005SE are listed with a price of £601 to £1000.

Well the £1000 is the RRP or equivalent and is pretty much what everyone quotes up front.

Where can you get it for as low £601 as Kef prevent this from being sold via the internet?

Or should I just enthusiatically negotiate knowing that 40% is the dealers margin?

Is it not that the 3005SE is the best product within that price range? There's a best buy up to £600, and a best buy over £1000.

They haven't updated the best buys since last years. I imagine they'll be a complete overhaul of all the best buys soon to tie in with the best buy's 2008 magazine that's out soon.

I believe so, yes.

It's always worth haggling, I got my B&W MT30 7.1 for £1460 delivered. Not bad considering the RRP is £1575 for the plain jane 5.1. And this was last year.

Haggling is good.
I got the 3005se 7.1 system, 2 stands and the pioneer vsx lx51 amp for £1950 a week ago. Should've been £2200ish. Can't wait to get them home.

Indeed, when the Awards issue goes on sale from October 16th we'll be updating all the Best Buys on the site to take account of the winners. That should keep me busy for a few days!

And in answer to the original post, we're not saying the KEFs are available from £601 retail, rather we're saying that they are the best in class up against competitors within that price band ie they're better than anything else we've heard between £601-£1000.
