Yikes.. just purchased a Denon 3310 to replace my 1910...

Should have it next week.. paid 550 pounds for it including delivery to dublin which doesnt seem to bad..

Hopefully I'll notice a difference now!

Cheers,

Mick

Well done, good choice, come back and tell us what you think about. When your set up.

If you liked what your Denon 1910 did, your new 3310 simply offers more - more power, more refinement - but essentially with the same character. I just changed from a 2310 to a 4310 for the same reason. If you like what Denon's do and how they do it, then you can't go wrong, especially at the price that some of these 2010 models are currently selling for simply because they're not "3D".

The biggest difference I noticed was, to my surprise, the video quality... the audio is better too, but it's largely just more of the same, whereas the video quality improved significantly.

I'm sure you'll not be disappointed... especially at that price.

hi wireman,

what video sources do you route through your denon? i used to put everything through mine, but lately run hdmi's direct to the tv. I run co axial from sky hd to the receiver and have hdmi for 3d direct from my blu-ray with hd audio via hdmi out 2 to the denon.. i have the wii routed through via component and set to upscale to 1080

cheers,

mick

My plasma is mounted on a chimney breast with a 10m HDMI back to the AVR etc on a wall mounted shelf some way away. As all my cables are buried in the walls/under the floors and hidden, I don't have the option to try separate cables to the screen as you do. But I think you may be surprised by the quality of the video chip set in the better Denon AVR's, so routing all your sources back through the 3310 is worth trying (it certainly makes changing sources easier too). The biggest surprise for me was upsampling my really old (but very good in its day) S-VHS video recorder; the PQ is every bit the equal of DVD when routed through the 4310 - markedly better than the 2310. So give it a go with all your sources and see for yourself...

Well guys, two days living with the Denon 3310 and happy so far.. I have one niggle that isnt an issue for me really - i cant seem to get sound on the co ax in connections on the receiver, but i i had a spare optical cable on the house so i'm using that with sky hd instead of co ax and its working a treat. Ran Audessy last night.. it set speakers to small as expected.. some of the crossover settings for the speakers looked a little strange but i didnt change anything.. i havent had much of a chance to listen to much yet, but i put on Bolt last night on blu-ray - the first few minutes are quite agressive and it sounded great. As did some of my mp3s played back from the ps3.. i hooked it up to the net as well and tried some of the internet radio.. kinda snazzy... would it be better quality that FM ? does the Denon have DAB bulit in ? guess i should read the specs! also used the web control to backup my settings to my PC.. very handy feature

i have one question on firmware updates - i got a message saying there was one available but when i tried to apply it said something about how i hadnt purchased any new features and to contact my retailer?

Anyway so far so good.. it seems like a quality product... much heavier than my 1910.. and my wife commented on how things sounded better.. so if she's noticing it then it must be good!

Cheers,

Mick
