Did it this morning, everything is working great now. The player is a lot less noisy with 4K blu rays and you can see the menus and the beginning of all 4K blu rays now. Did it via USB stick, pretty easy.

We're all surprised you kept it long enough to reach a firmware update....

Gel's taking the USB stick back tomorrow!
I got the USB stick free with something I purchased but I can't remember what! *biggrin*

...there's any word on whether hdmi input will pass HDR? My shield works fine but would like to use oppo for SPMC video processing.

More bad news is that 8tb mirrored nas is full so looks like new 5 bay is going to blow my oppo budget esp when i add 8tb drive to equation.

Just bought it today but did not have time to set up due to work. Just hope it works through the Yamaha SB!! Will have a play tomorrow with the SACD and DVD(A) plus I bought the Tarzan HDR Bluray to test against upscaled BD and DVD. Shame to make the CA 751 redundant as that is still going strong.

Very happy with its upscaling capabilities especially Bluray, but not sure if the 4K ultra HD is worth the extra money. Bought 2 more from HMV - Criminal and Heart of the Sea (2 for £30). I like the on screen menus and the free HDMI cable. At least it works with the Soundbar.

Nice one. I got in the Heart of the Sea too. TV upgrade might be called for.

This is an interesting website where the legend of Tarzan is really 2K mastered to look like 4K. Probably right as the swirling mist at the beginning look more like a fingerprint including the sky areas. Probably what the Oppo is picking up on. Whereas 4K on youtube looks amazing be it someones holiday footage to Hisense (etc) promo material.
