Joining HDMI cables

Has any one tried joining 2 Chord HDMI Active cables ( 2x8 metre ) cables?

wonder'd if it would still work, i want to try this with a 3d signal from 3d blu ray player to tv.

I think you'll be pushing it, unless you use a suitable repeater between the two cables.

After recently changing my TV and finding out that the HDMI socket was further away than on my last TV (wires where sunk into the wall in conduit), I used one of those couplers joining 1 x 1m QED HDMI-P and 1 x 5 m QED HDMI-P (neither 1.4 compliant by the way) and it passes full HD 3D through , no problems and no loss in picture quality either.

Well yes, but that's a total cable length of 6m, not the 16m the OP was asking about.
