Samsung, Sony, Panasonic. Buy the one you like the look of. I'd have got Samsung if it had fit my alcove, but ended up with Panasonic instead (though that was still deemed too big and went back).

Can not Fault JL for service, I'm on my 3rd TV and no arguments (Original TV had power supply Buzz issue) in the end I changed Brand, JL were fantastic.

Try and find out the best local cost for whichver TV you like and ask them to price match, not sure if they still do it but worth a try.

What's the fault?

My Philips LCD kept shutting itself down randomly - used to be once a week or so and then suddenly it kept doing it every few minutes. It got to the stage that it was useless - had to switch off at the mains and back on which gave another few minutes viewing before going through the cycle again.

I was starting to think it was beyond hope, but did a firmware update by downloading the firmware from the web onto a USB stick and then restarting the TV. Took a couple of attempts, but sorted the problem and the TV has been perfect ever since.

Sorry if you're wanting to go out and get a shiny new toy but it might be worth a go!

They will, but there's a ten day turnaround.

Same as you have described. Screen goes blank, have to turn set on and off several times. Sometimes pictures come back for a few seconds, mostly not at all. Will try update, if no sucess, i'll get a new one.

Its put me off Philips.

Do i need 100hz?
1080p or 1080i?
Anything else to look out for?
