itv 1 in dd

just switched on the tv and itv1 hd is broadcasting iceage 2 in surround,first time ive ever seen them do anything other than stereo,and the adds in dd as well,any reason?

ITV HD doesn't broadcast in 5.1 surround, merely Dolby Pro Logic, which isn't quite the same, i have emailed ITV on several occasions to ask why they are the only HD broadcaster that doesn't output sound in 5.1. Their answer is that they are 'working on it', something they have been doing for years now. Maybe with their recent profit announcement they'll invest some of it into providing decent sound.
