I was wondering what I can do to connect my iPod classic 6th gen to my mojo 2 but it won’t work, is there some adapters that would make it work or should i download a new software to my iPod like rockbox and then maybe it might work?

Many years ago I used an Onkyo ND-S1 to connect my iPod to a Beresford DAC and later my ADM 9.1s

Can still pick these up on eBay.

So an iPod can send a digital signal, but you need a 15+ year old device to access it? I think I’d carry on enjoying Apple’s DAC!

We talk a 2007-2009 device.
Personally I would be highly surprised if it support UAC1 (USB Audio Class 1). USB audio wasn't that popular at that time.
Only if the iPod is a USB host and this host supports UAC1, it can drive a DAC.
My guess is that the Onkyo dock acts as a host and support UAC1 and can read the data on the iPod as access to its data is over USB.

I believe I still have one of those docks hanging around somewhere...
Of course, for the OP, the best bet is to replace ipod with a more modern DMP or keep it as a stand alone player.

My ipod gave up on me about fifteen years ago so I'm a little shaky on what outputs they had. However, I do remember, you could use the charge cable (that ends in a USB) to connect to devices. Was that an analogue or digital out? If its digital, in theory you just need an adapter from USB to whatever the Mojo uses, USB C?
