I have a budget of 1000 pounds to spend and for that kind of money i want a TV and a Blu-Ray Home Cinema system.
I have already found a very good home cinema system, the Sony BDV-FS350. This system has the excellent S350 Blu-Ray player and it's 2.1 and that's what i'm looking for. I could buy it at the local store for 349 pounds.

Can anybody tell me something more about the Sony BDV-FS350 home cinema system? I know the Blu-Ray player is very good
and i know (from testing it in the store) that the sound is decent, but what can YOU tell me about this system?
A week ago i wanted the Pioneer BCS-FS500 blu-ray home cinema system, that was offered to me at 399 pounds, but i think the Sony system gives me better value for money, the Pioneer is better looking, but after all you want value for money!

And do you have any suggestions on a tv that cost around 650 pounds max? I prefer a 37" tv.

Thank you for your response bigboss and thank you for suggesting the Sony BDV-360FS home cinema system.
To answer your question, i prefer a 37", and i have compared a 37" to a 40" tv, and i think the 37" is the perfect size for my room (normal size living room). I know that most people say that they are certain that they know which size to go for and then later discover that they could have gone bigger, but i doubt if that's the case here. I want a 'big' tv, but i still want it to be civilised and i think i will enjoy a 40" tv, especially on blu-ray, but for me 37" is perfect. But i will keep every option open. Also i am a bit concerned about the Samsung 40B550 tv you suggested, because it's only 50 hz and i think i will see the difference if i compare it to a 100Hz tv.

I'm sitting only 9-10 feet away from my 50-inch screen & even SD viewing is superb at this distance. Do have a look at TVs in shops from your viewing distance & check them out.

I personally think that the Sony W series is being sold at a bargain price due to oncoming new models. A complete Sony system will look nice as well.

What exactly do you mean by this?

the new 2010 sony range is starting to appear in shops , the w series is last years model , so it is being sold off cheap to make way for the new tvs .. its great value ..
