is the newer pioneer vsxlx53 worth the xtra over the vsxlx52.

Forum,

An interesting twist here. I can get the VSXlx52 for £599 with manufacturers warrenty, however i have been offered a Denon AVR2310 for £515 with 5 year warrenty. Bearing in mind i'll be using mt-25's as peakers i know the opinion is the pioneer sounds good with them but what about the Denon??

I heard them with the denon in a demo but too be honest i don't think they were setup right by the people giving the demo but to me it sounded a little flat and no as exciting as the pioneer and the people who with me all thought the same too.

Having said that it always gets good write ups the denon.

If i was thinking of spending 1300stg on a AVR,i'd save myself nearly 500 stg and go for Yamahas 1067,2 more HDMIs,ethernet,DAB and a much more classier look to boot, with its fold down door.My next choice would be to spend a little more and go for the VSX-LX73.
