If the shortest/cleanest signal path on my NAD 3020 is obtained thru the tape out is this also true of my Pioneer A5 and other pre cd amps?

Sorry,i refer to the internal signal path from input to speaker outs being less cluttered ie switches and so on. On the 3020 this is said to be via the tape input and i wonder if this is the same on other pre cd amps. I have always used the aux inputs but have now changed this on both amps and have noticed some mild improvement in both transients and general clarity.

Well yes I guess that may be so, given thet the tape input will bypass the usual input/output to tape switching, so may have a marginally shorter path. But this will vary from design to design, and how the tape loop is implemented.
