My sister is just about to get a iPhone 5 through her business work! A good way to get one.

True though i wouldn't go contract again, as you can buy the phone unlocked and buy a 1 month rolling contract seperately and change to suit your needs as you go along and it can save you alot of money over the year. If you are like me i ended up taking to much of a contract i do not need. Not only that in 1 years time if you like keeping up with the Jones's then you can sell your unlock phone which is worth more than a locked phone and put it towards a new phone saving even more money than what you would by selling it 2 years down the line.

In my experience with the 4S (my wife owns it), the iPhone is flawless (except the maps of course, which is terrible). Whatever it's supposed to do, it does it well. The only reason she wants to change back to Android, is because she got bored with it! Lack of customisation & the fact that every iPhone looks the same without any individuality didn't help things.

If you don't mind the UI, then you'll be happy with the iPhone.

Thanks for all the answers

The decision is made and I will go for an iPhone 5 but if it doesnt work out i can always sell it; get a good price for it and go back to a decent Android handset (SGS III or Note 2 etc...)

As its free through my business conbtract it'd be silly to turn the opportunity down; plus with going for a MacBook Pro it should simplify life in regards to syncing everything I need etc...

With regards to the contract; it's my own business so a contract was a necessity; more so as I use around 1500-2000 minutes a month (without trying) and god knows how many texts etc... The data plan I'm on is unlimited but I only ever send & receive emails and use the maps/sat nav etc so it's never tested.

However with my personal mobile (which I may end up nicking the iPhone 5 for and use my Desire HD for business) I use O2 contract at £20 a month and it's never been more than that but the wife has recently ended her contract after 18months with O2 aqnd gone onto GiffGaff and she gets the same allowances for £10 less a month!

For reasons of convenience, I have only ever synced my iPhones to iTunes running on Dell Latitude laptops (D630 & E6420) running Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro. (Despite having an iMac in another room.)

What advantages/simplification do you get (or foresee getting) from syncing an iPhone on a Mac instead?

I thought 'iTunes is iTunes' whatever it's running on.

I understand that iTunes is iTunes no matter what computer you use but for overall stability of iTunes and AirPlay, for me personally, I dont think that Apple computers can be beaten!

I'm using an Acer Aspire 5332 laptop currently (W7) and it's 'ok' but that's about it. AirPlay on it isnt anywhere near as stable as it was when I had my iMAC and in comparison, overall the ACER is years behind the MAC computers for me; it's just so slow and bitty whereas my iMAC was smooth and liqued 100% of the time!

Plus the ACER never stops doing updates which seems to slow the laptop down etc...

I think I've learnt to hate MS computers and cannot wait to get my hands on a new MacBook Pro 😀
