Hi,

Anyone else with an iPhone 4S experienced any difficulties with no sound? This includes both from phone calls in the earpiece and from the built in speaker.

I was on a call and the sound just died.

Cheers,

I had an issue (which doesn't sound quite the same as yours) after I'd been using earphones.

It seemed to think the 'phones were still attached, so i guess there was some moisture or small other "object" in the port.

I twisted up a small piece of kitchen roll and gave the headphone port a bit of a clean.

Like I say, doesn't sound like quite the same issue, but maybe worth a try?

I'm presuming the 4S has the same button layout to the 4, if so, have you checked the little button on the left hand side just above the volume up and down buttons isn't switched to red?

Or is that just too obvious?

Hi,

Ye - checked the obvious but following the first reply I blew down the headphone socket and the dock connector. Still no luck. I then placed the phone on a dock and played music to see if it was still outputting that way. It was. I removed the phone but still no sound...placed it back on the dock a couple of times and it's now outputting sound and I can hear in-game noises etc. so all seems ok.

Perhaps a bug?

Hopefully all is fully functional for the foreseeable.

Thanks for suggestions.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.

Hi,

Further to events above, the phone went all silent again. Checked with VF and it was still in warranty so a trip to Apple Store, Braehead, Glasgow and I now have a replacement.

Genius at the bar said it was a faulty dock connector.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
