Looking for recommendations for an amp to drive the Missions. Have no idea where to start as the last stereo amp I bought was 25 years ago. I don't believe the Missions are difficult to drive so maybe "matching" is too much of an issue, but I'd be grateful for any input.

Happy to buy used & a phono stage would be a bonus to prompt me to dust off the turntable.

Primary source wil be a Logitech Squeezebox streaming FLAC files.

No, those Missions were built to be easy to drive. Almost any of the entry-level amps from the likes of Marantz, NAD or Rotel will be more than adequate - it really depends how much you want to spend.

I run a diddy pair of the smallest in the range, the M30's and they have a clear, decent sound but as with all Missions (low end ones anyway) they are fairly trebble happy (bright top end).

Totally depends what your budget is, id imagine somthing like the Marantz PM6002 would be a great partner,

Best idea would be to try and audition them together in a local shop seeing as they are both current products.

A couple of weeks ago I replaced my old Audiolab 8000a (which has an excellent phono stage) with the newer 8000s (no phono stage). I contacted Audiolab about a couple of things, one of which was to ask what speakers they would recommend for listening to Indie / Rock / Americana. They recommended Mission M33i and Mission M34i.

Haven't had a chance to audition the speakers yet so can't comment on how well they will match up but as you are happy to buy second hand it might be worth having a look at the 8000a. Superb clear and detailed sound.

You can pick them up for between £100 and £150 on Ebay. Try and find one with the "video" input as these were the late 80's / early 90's models.

Seeing as Audiolab and Mission are part of IAG which is the parent group for both companies, this is not surprising, though they may be right in recommending that pairing too. Worth demoing methinks!

Thanks guys.

Doing a bit more research I was tempted by the RA-04, but the lack of a remote is putting me off & the leap in price to the RA-05 is a bit too much. Same problem with the Audiolab.

Will have to try to find somewhere to demo the Marantz.

I have the rotel ra-04 and you get used to having no remote, not than big a problem as long as your not planning on changing volume or sources every 5 minutes. Plus it a very good amp and supposed to be better than the ra-05. The Ra-01 amps are going dirt cheap on ebay aswell.

I find a remote pretty much essential to hit mute when the phone rings. Too old to dash to the rack & back to the phone before voicemail kicks in!
