PLEASE add Stephane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt's incredible, wonderful recordings to your list as well. Fabulous stuff.I saw Stephane Grapelli when i was about 14, a year or so before he died. Thought he was terrible... not sure if that was down to his age or mine.

I may brave some of his earlier stuff though based on this (and the fact my dad generally has reasonable taste)

Reading this thread made me reach for my most recent three Jazz CD purchases: Art Pepper - No Limit (listening to it now), The Buddy Rich Big Band - Big Swing Face (thank you Parky!) and Esbjorn Svensson Trio - Leucocyte. Three great discs but completely different from each other.

For what it's worth...I'm just listening to Thelonious Monk's "It's Monk's Time", and that's one of my absolute favorites at the moment!
