If I was going to upgrade my AV amp what sould i be looking at?

More wistful thinking at the moment but wondering what would be suggested.

currently have an Onk. 805. running a 7.1 set up.

Screen Pio. 5080

sources

DVD/SACD/DVDA

HD DVD

BD

internet TV at 720pcurrently HDMI to TV and Optical to Amp

Wii component and up converted in the amp.

PC/media server currently HDMI direct to TV and Optical to Amp

dont really need any up-scaling quite like the options of not having the Amp on for the TV/PC

do I want to change? no but i wonder.

Is there anything you are not happy with? I won't be changing my receiver for some time. I'm under no illusion that I could get better sound from my AV system but it sounds amazing anyway.

If I had to upgrade from my Onkyo 905, I'd definitely audition the full Pioneer setup of Pioneer SC-LX82 amp and Pioneer BDP-LX52 Blu-Ray against the likes of the Sony STR-DA5400ES amp and Sony BDP-S5000ES Blu-Ray combo.

Of course I'd also check out the Yamaha DSP-Z7 as it would be rude not to...

maybe i am just feed up with waiting for the Squeezebox Touch release date to be confirmed.

Maybe i just need to buy some more vinyl. the local music store has some Seasick Steve albums in.....
