i20 volume adjustment, what level?

My Pure i20 dock came, it has the built in DAC.

The volume can be adjusted via the control, which I thought was strange but seems to be the norm for the i20.

is it best to have the volume on full on the iPod/dock?

It may be EQing in the digital domain.

Greater flexibility controlling the volume with your amp. It doesn't really matter, have it at three quarters if you want. Or even seven eighths.
