While it makes sense to offer both LED and OLED (as do most of their Korean and Japanese competitors), there are several infuriating things about their strategy from a customer point of view. Not clearly separating their WOLED and QDOLED models is an obvious area of frustration. In addition, they remain the only major manufacturer who refuses to offer Dolby Vision. This means that any WOLED model or LED model that competes directly with another manufacturer who offers similar hardware performance, should offer a meaningful discount given the absence of this feature. Tizen OS is generally regarded as being one of the worst TV Operating Systems as well - not just in terms of ease of use (or lack thereof) and speed but also in terms of its ads. At least LG has decided to back away from ads in their latest TV OS for 2024 - and LG is now offering a clear OS upgrade path for its customers on new products.
They reserve their best features for their overpriced LED 8K models which offer very little in real world use. Their flagship TV this year has an incredibly divisive screen coating too. So at least for purists, they haven't delivered the best they could - or at least should have offered the S95D with a glossy coating option. If you want their best QD OLED in 2024 with a glossy coating - you don't know if you will get QDOLED or WOLED. Their picture processing and accuracy is also not regarded as highly as LG, Sony or Panasonic.
The only thing I can give them credit for is the WALL TV products which have some appeal in some use cases and the solar remote which is quite clever (although having a dedicated input button would have been nice)
