Surprised you made no mention of the new Samsung Seamless Codec? This is a new codec (something like what you suggest Apple could (or should) be developing), that Samsung launched a few weeks ago along with the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Samsung claims it supports audio quality right through to 24-bit hi-res over Bluetooth.
