I think my new CD player has a fault :-(

With a few of the cds, it won't start playing from track 1. If I move it forward to track 2, it's fine.

With most other discs, it runs fine from track 1.

Any ideas, anyone?

True Blue:What CDP?

Marantz CD6003. In all cases, I'm talking about commercial CDs, not home made ones. All played fine on my old player, pc, car etc.

Definitely puzzled.

Check the discs are clean. Wait until the player is fully booted up and displaying track1 before pressing play.

It reads the TOC fine, and displays the number of tracks & total disc time. Then, when I hit play, nowt happens.

So far, it's affected 7 discs, 4 by Joe Bonamassa, 3 by Walter Trout. So, is my CD player a music critic or what?!

I recently bought a cd6003. The first one would not play cds at all (did not even read the TOC) so I took it back and got a replacement which works ok. Perhaps it has some early production issues?

I would take it back and demand a replacement/refund if I were you

Just tried a couple of CD-Rs. Worked fine on track 1.

This is a bummer, cos I love it otherwise. Oh,well, a call to the retailer tomorrow morning is on the cards

Update. Spoken to the retailer; there's a replacement player with my name on it. No quibbles at asll, so that's ok.
