... records, amplifiers, cd players, hifi racks, cables.

I intensly dislike anything to to do with hifi.

I have moved, the second time in as many years. The property owner was selling.

It is simply incredible how much hifi stuff I had to move. Ridicilous actually. Even though one of my systems is half size (including a couple of my turntables) I was thoroughly fed up last weekend and really envy people that can live out of a shoe box.

How much I wanted just my library of stored/streaming music/Headphones.

I now firmly believe vinyl, separates etc is only for people that have settled and I mean settled ... for good ... never ever, ever to move again.

It's all up again (in a smaller listening room) and I still love my system (the other one comprising my beloved Sony Receiver went into storage) but I am seriously considering going micro (size only) with something like Micromega Myamp and getting rid of my records/turntables etc etc.

Then again, maybe not :)

200 hi-fi mags?

I have five (all from the 1980s) bought from ebay a couple of years ago to see if they wrote much better/more interesting reviews 30 years ago. (I believe in evidence rather than rose tinted memories.)

You've reminded me to recycle them. (Although Hi-Fi News & Record Review January 1984 is superb at thwacking wasps so that might stay.)

Go for it .... go cold turkey, put everything else into storage and see if you could live with such a "minimalist" system

Personally I'd rather hate the situation in the UK where people have to rent from these buy to rent ghouls. Your life is in their hands and they can sell on a whim. Housing policy in the UK is one big pile of smelly droppings.
