Very interesting article from another age in music reproduction. I seriously doubt the autoMignon qualified as a hi-fi device, but I'm sure I'd have aspired to get one for my car if I'd been old enough at the time. Good to hear the writer's recollections, and I'm sure the autoMignon brought him and his family a great deal of happiness.

That was fascinating. I had no idea such a device existed! I'm not surprised it wasn't popular, as you'd need a passenger to keep swapping discs for enjoyment of any meaningful length, and this is why the cassette player became de rigeur equipment for cars.
