Hello,

When my amp is on and switched to my phone pre-amp, I hear a fairly loud hum from my speakers. In addition, when my fridge switches on (whatever it is that it is switching on and off), the noise seems to feedback into my speakers. Can this be solved with a power conditioner? My phono preamp is a Bellari tube preamp which I am told is noisy but I am not sure if it is the culprit in both these situations. Thank you.

Power conditioner would help. Think your house might be poorly grounded though.

I agree with Ray a mains conditioner may eliminate it. Also I agree it sounds like an earthing issue.

Why don't you try a Tacima CS929 to start with to see if it helps?

ground issue I would say, check interconnects and ground wire they may be broke by pulling on them or just defected switch them out if you can just for peace of mind

I agree - you have an earthing issue.

Check your amp and pre-amp and deck are all earthed.

Chech that all 3 devices have the live and neutral wires connected the right way around. The hum is commonly caused if one or more devices has it's connections reversed.

If there is no earth on the deck or the pre-amp or the amp itself then once you are sure you have all the live an neutral wires right try earthing the 3 components to each other.

As an alternative try touching the cae of each in turn. If the hum is attenuated then you have found the culprit. Earthing this device should eliminate the hum.
