I would like to connect my Hegel HD12 DAC to my Marantz SR6010, so I can connect my computer to the receiver. But should I use the phono input or optical?

Thanks for the help. But for some reason no music will play, when using the usb input of the DAC, and connected by phono cable to the receiver. It is the input labeled phono on the receiver I should use right?

Yes just use the phono input on your reciever just make sure you have the right source selected for it to work.

Use the phono input, optical is digital.

DO NOT USE THE PHONO INPUT!

For grud's sake Simon, you can only use the phono input for a turntable, plug anything else into it and you risk blowing the amp and/or speakers.

Neither of those options are suitable, use any analogue input, other than phono and you should be fine.

There's plenty of suitable inputs on the back. Use one labelled "cd", "dvd" or "game" that does not have a cable going into the same named hdmi input above.
