Dear all ,

Can anyone teach me how to connect My above mentioned CA amp to Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Amp so that i can switch over my Integrated amp to drive my speakers or switch over to Onkyo Amp to drive my front speakers without disconnecting to swap the front speakers cables ?

I heard there is a way ... but wonder if my Onkyo TX-SR 606 AV is capable of doing it?

By the way my Front speakers is Wharfedale Diamond 9.1

Best Rgds,

Your Onkyo TX-SR606 is lacking the front left & right pre-out's that are needed for this kind of set-up i'm affraid!

But if you did have a suitable A/V Receiver with the Front L&R pre-out's then you would set up as follows:

1. Connect the front pre-outs on the AV Amp to a spare input on the stereo amp(Aux for example)
2. Ensure the left and right front speakers are connected to the stereo
amp,and the other speakers connected
to the receiver.
3. Select the input on the Stereo Amp that the AV Amp is connected to.
4. Set the volume on the Stereo Amp to a memorable position.12 o'clock position for example.
5. Run the speaker calibration set up.

Then when watching a movie you need both amp's on,and the correct input and volume on the stereo amp selected, and when listening to music just the stereo amp needs to be on.

Hope that helps.

I have the same system as yours except the AV amp. Mine is Denon 1905 and boy the CA did improve stereo performance alot. Wonder why most budget AV amp does not have front pre out. Considered myself lucky to have one.

Sorry i dont know how to insert pic. If not pics explains all...

Is it EXT FL FR analog connections? i saw it on the denon AV amp. So A/V amps having the pre out will need interconnect cables to connect to one of the stereo lines to do this?

Best Rgds,

Alvin

FL FR analog out sounds like it. Yea you need a pair of interconnect to connect the AV front out to the amp input, ie: AUX, DVD. Do you own a mini hifi or mini compo? I believe most of them has AUX in and you could give it a try.
