Hi

the reason i ask is because i have a Pioneer VSX520k reciever and was just wondering apart from added inputs and features ithere really much differnence between the guts of these machines, im particularly interested in the difference between the vsx 520, 820 and 920 just to have a different view of my purchase as theres not much out there for the 520.

thanks alote for all your input

Can't say about the Pioneers, but there was a massive difference between the RX-V1900 & the cheaper Yamahas when I demoed them. Of course, it depends on the speakers. They should be capable of bringing the best out of your receiver. Also, a properly matched receiver will bring out the best from your speakers.

Totaly agree.

I went from Arcam AVR350 to AVR600 - huge difference. It also had the effect of making my speakers sound like they too had been upgraded.

VFM is very subjective...and personal. It's a journey only you can make.
