Audio Affairs appear to have increased the price on the open boxes. I am most delighted with their excellent customer service. I ordered open box but the last one was sold to another customer.

They said if I'm happy to wait two weeks for the next shipment, they give me an unopened box for no extra cost..........F'"""...k Yeah! 🙂

how many headphones do you have Jason 😁? Headphone Druggy 😄😄

Remember to use them wired and wirelessly and see what you think.
Last night i sat down planning a peaceful Headphone night in with the newbies.
Got my new extension cable all ready.
charged them already.
downloaded the App.
tested on my phone all is fine .

Plugged them in to my Marantz front Headphone input sound fine .
Plugged into my Zen can Amp very low volume even with the Headphone Amp at full volume .

Grrrr !

I have to admit this Amp is complicated to set up correctly so many inputs and out puts.
After a hour of checking every thing ,i traced my steps to the Zen Amp connection to the Amp it was plugged into Zone 2 on the Marantnz Amp .

I new this already but thought i play it safe my other Headphones were fine .

I discovered that Zone 2 output is a varaible volume, within the Amp settings so i turnded this up Bingo that sounds better 😄

will see how they sound tonight will compare wired and wireless at some point .

I'm simply headphone mad 😂
I really love them, they make music so accessible, you don't have to worry about annoying anyone, you can just slip into your zone.
There's absolutely no touching these Hifimans, really love these cans!

I can see that you didn't answer the question 🤓
Oh, yes you're right.

My headphones are three, Hifiman He1000v2s, Byerdynamic Amiron and FiiO FT1s.

Selling Hifiman Edition XS

Ear plugs KZ planars and another dynamic ones I can't recall the name.

I also have lying around my generic wireless headphones, I never use.
I did have a Razer gaming headset my nephew borrowed from me, I think he still has them 😊

Loads of custom made headphones cables.
I'm enjoying the Mogami ones but it could be placebo ☺️

Those HE1000 (open box) can be scooped up for £764 from HiFiMan's UK store now. An extra 10% off, which puts them down to the same bracket as the Meze 109 Pro which I'm still pondering about.
Oooh nice!

The Meze 109 Pro are mighty fine, possibly the best dynamic headphones out there but they're pitched against the Hifiman Arya Organic headphones, the Hexi's are a step above. Either way, you can't go wrong.

When you hear people ranting on about their Sennheiser's, I say you're listening to dogs barking, when you listen to good planar headphones, you're listening to music 😎 - the question to ask, what is your poison?

Do you like the sound of dogs barking, no seriously, do you prefer the Hifiman sound or do you prefer the sound of the Meze's?

That’s just a bribe, to try and get you going back to buy more. A straightforward discount is much more useful. They also know many will just let the credit expire.
I suppose you can get these with it plus a bit extra:

And use the 10 per cent off code.

£82 brand new at Amazon:

Hypothetically speaking, if I need to use the discount voucher on the next purchase, I'll buy the headphones first, then the next day I'll buy the R2R DAC headamp or something else .... but only if that was what I originally planned to do 🙂

Looks like I've been a bit impulsive :innocent: 🙄🤦‍♂️

New headphones arrive tomorrow and are in line with my vote in the poll at the start of the thread. I've done in-store demos of a few pairs of headphones, have read and viewed a number of reviews, and in the end I've taken a bit of a punt on something different.....

I like to think that my impulsiveness with Hi-Fi in the past year or so has paid off every time, and so here's to hoping that the latest impulse follows that trend. Quite excited 😁

Pleasant surprises are always the best.
Listening extensively to my He1000v2s (Hexi's), I've discovered layers of tamper that never came into fruition with Edition XS and oh wow, what a revelation.
The most speaker like headphones I've listened to.
I've not compared the stock cables with the customised Mogami ones. They're aesthetically pleasing and sound peasant enough, so why bother, the quality of these cables are worth the extra costs.

High five my man!
You've got to speculate to accumulate, right?

I just think that there are economies of scale in China that are impossible to replicate anywhere in the West, and when you've got a Chinese firm dipping a toe in a new-to-them tier of the headphone market, it's got to be worth a crack if they're having a real go at making an impression.

It's the FiiO FT7. Constructive reviews question the headband adjustment build quality compared to the rest of the unit, and there's a suggestion of brightness to *some* ears, but overall the consensus is that they punch well above their weight, have excellent overall build quality and low end / mid tone, and they have planar precision with non-planar staging.

Good choice, I read the reviews also. I have FiiOs budget dynamic headphones phones, and these don't sound budget!

I got lucky and managed to get a set starting with a £5xx.

New and via Amazon, but it seems like they were the last pair a store up near Edinburgh had in stock. I'm not sure quite how that makes any sense for them financially, but I'm happy to go with it - it's about 20% off RRP and ~£200 less than the Meze 109s that I've auditioned, liked, but remained on the fence about.
