how long should a sub cable be?

I need to move my sub, it means i will require approx 8m long cable. My questions are,

Will this affect performance?

what Cable should i be looking at

I concur; I have a The Chord Company Crimson RCA analogue interconnect cable for my sub-woofer. Mine is only 3 metres in length. Like all cables, the shorter the cable run, the better.
