how does the new audiolab 8000ms sound ? as good as the older ones or a good buy as i can get 2 x monos for £500

i have got a audiolab 8000p older black model pre tag

would 2 x the newer audiolab 8000ms sound better then my 8000p pre tag

i listern to drum and bass and old school

Unfortunately they don't sound quite as good as the original 8000M's, but then at over half the price, I wouldn't expect them to. They're now made in China and maybe some slightly cheaper parts used, but they're still very reliable and still give a glimpse of the high end for peanuts. Whether they would sound better than your 8000P is a tought one. The M's will have their benefits regading channel seperation and imaging, but pure quality I think would be a close one.

They're still powerhouses, and silly value for money for what they offer.
