high level subwoofer setup for hifi sound

hi there guys,i am interested in thoughts about using speaker level input for subwoofer and the sound quality compared to line level.Does anyone have experience with any of these setups for hi-fi and any recommendations.Much appreciated.

Hi bassboy, I have found that when the subwoofer is of a different make from the speakers then speaker level inputs are better since it filters out the frequencies produced by the subwoofer. I think this provides better integration than line-level. When the sub n speakers are of the same make then it is a much closer call but still I think speaker level inputs are better. I am talking of a hometheater though, I have not tried it with my hi-fi but I don't see why the case would be different. A cheap experiment to conduct, so I think you should give it a try.
