Not a thread for HDMI arguement, one for the believers........

I am considering using the second HDMI on my Blu-ray player (Pioneer BDP-LX91) to connect directly to my Television (Pioneer PDP-LX5090) I wondered what high end HDMIs to consider (more than a Van den hul Flat HDMI) I was thinking the Van Den Hul Ultimate (2m, £180ish) I know there are a few HDMIs from Ecosse/Wireworld/QED that I could consider but I don't know how they compare to the Ultimate? Any one got any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi JTD,

what amp and speaker package are you using? The Ultimate is a great cable, but one that we'd only recommend for very high-end systems.

cheers

My thoughts get the same and spend the rest on discs.

but again if the shop does a returns deal give it a go and if you think it is worth it keep it.

At the moment an Onkyo 875 (van den hul Flat HDMI for the audio from the LX91 to the amp, and amp to TV) and Monitor Audio RS8/RS1/RS LCR/RSW12 (using Chord Carnival SilverScreen and QED Micro and QED SR-SW) The TV and Blu-ray are also running through an IsoTek Mira.

The amp will be upgraded next, waiting for the LX82 or likewise..........

For now I am looking for the best picture I can get, bypassing the amp hopefully makes a noticable diference. Is it High end enough?

Thanks

Tbh JTD, i'd stick with the Flat, even if you upgraded to the SC-LX82. The Ultimate would be more suited to something along the lines of a £10,000/15,000 projector, £5000/6000 amp etc. The Flat is ideal for your system.
