A few years back I plumped for a full Tag Mclaren set up - swayed by excellent sound, picture quality and build; one player solution to CD/DVD and more importantly upgradability with emerging new technology. Well we all know of the demise of Tag and therefore the upgrade path and though the Tag kit has served well I have decided the time has come to move on to newer tech. I am looking for a full set up - processor, power amp and player.
Is there a set up out there which has a true universal player (true HiFi quaity to audio and top Blue ray and DVD playback), and equal quality processor and amp - both in stereo and 7.1 ?
Is truly upgradeable and will not be redundant in 5 years (obvioulsy assuming current recognised tech)?
Do you have to spend a similar amount to the original Tag cost to achieve comparable current day quality?
I have a 5.1 Monitor Audio Platinum speaker set up so wont be looking at speaker changes.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
