Interesting and encouraging - and I do like this quote from the CNN article:

"...Apple and other Web retailers are in talks with major labels about offering high-quality songs, music executives said."

Hopefully, "other retailers" means plenty of competition/alternatives and that the current norm of c. £20/album for 176-192kHz won't last long?

Hope so, I cant think of any other 'new technology' that hasn't got progressively cheaper as the demand grows (off the top of my head anyway, sure someone will correct) me.

Plus I believe that more sensibly priced downloads, both HD and lossy formats will eventually negate the impact of illegal downloads. So everyone will be a winner!
