Hello everyone,
I'm the Sales Manager for
Atacama Apollo, and I wanted to clear up some confusion regarding
HiFi Racks Ltd.
Here's the essential information you need to know:
- HiFi Racks Ltd. went into receivership in Spring 2024. This means that after that date, the original company, HiFi Racks Ltd., ceased to exist.
- We did not buy the company, HiFi Racks Ltd. Had we not intervened, the HiFi Racks story would have ended there.
- Sambell Engineering Ltd., the owners of the Atacama Audio and Apollo HiFi brands, purchased the assets from the Official Receiver. This included the rights to the designs, the brand name (but not the 'Ltd' company itself), some machinery, the website address, and the intellectual property.
- We do not have the customer database or access to orders placed through the original HiFi Racks Ltd. storefront.
Why New Products Are Branded 'Apollo'
Initially, our plan was to simply put the original products back into production. However, as experienced engineers, we quickly identified
fundamental issues with all the original HiFi Racks Ltd. designs. We couldn't, in good conscience, put our name on products with flaws we weren't willing to be associated with.
Because of these design issues, we also
cannot produce spares for the original products. Supplying parts for items we didn't manufacture could inadvertently lead to serious failure due to the inherent design faults, creating unacceptable liability issues for us.
Therefore, we made the decision to
retire the HiFi Racks brand and
re-engineer the product range where possible, as the aesthetics are quite pleasing.
Over the last 18 months or so, we have been hard at work developed the new versions—including the Podium, Podium XL, the wall mount, and the single and double width racks. To clearly distinguish these superior, re-engineered products from the original company’s items, we have launched the new range under our
Apollo Brand.
We genuinely
sympathize with original HiFi Racks customers who need extra shelving or different leg heights. Unfortunately, due to the design constraints and liability concerns mentioned, we are unable to supply parts for the original, legacy products.
I hope this clarifies the situation.
