Hi,

I would like to upgrade my rubbish Dixons Hi-fi system to something better. I have about £700 to spend. BUT I am interested in something that could plug in to my TV/DVD (or Blu-Ray) player to give me a stereo sound when watching music DVDs. I am NOT interested in surround sound as I currently mainly listen to music and just watch the occassional film/music DVD, so just need to power two speakers. Can I power DVD, TV off a good hi-fi amp like the CA AZUR 540? Or do I need an AV receiver?

As I say my setup would be two speakers, amp and CD player to go with my DVD player and TV.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Assuming your TV and DVD player have analogue audio outputs - and most have - you can connect them into a conventional stereo amplifier with no problems at all.
