helping a patient out

A patient wants to know how he can hook up his stereo to his ps3 televsion etc. I have done a a similare thing my stereo using the component cables.( think thats what they are called). Anyway he doesn't have these on his stereo and i was wondering is there any other way of doing this?

He will probably need a (3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA Phono Audio Cable) depending on the tv outputs as the sony only uses a 3.5mm input ,it will look like a headphone socket

It looks like toshiba have replaced the audio out with optical so they will need one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/AU-D3-Digital-Analogue-Converter-Install/dp/B003WFPXZ2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1317868336&sr=8-3 which comes with a free optical cable and then buy himself a (3.5mm stereo jack to 2 RCA Phono Sockets) as i said before .he will have to measure between the tv and stereo for one long enough to fit. i had the same problem with my tv having only a optical out and this is how i fixed mine
