Advice needed! I currently have a Pioneer BDP-LX70A Blu-Ray player and am very happy with it. I'd like to be able to access BBC iPlayer and the latest What HiFi! reviews give the new Sony BDP-S370 5 stars - it has wired Internet as standard so streams iPlayer. Question - given all the glowing comments about the Sony's performance (at its RRP of £170), how would it compare as a Blu-Ray player in terms of picture and sound quality with my Pioneer (RRP I think £1000 when it was new.....)? David

As a blu-ray player, the Pioneer should perform better, although I must say that you will struggle to notice a difference in blu-ray performance unless you notice every frame closely side by side.

If it is the iPlayer you want, there are other options which have additional features which the S370 doesn't have:

1) Sony PS3

2) WD TV + TVersity

Thanks bigboss for the suggestions. Must say that I'm not really into games so the PS-3 is probably not a potential purchase, but I'll investigate your other two options - never heard of either of them so I'll start Googling.....!

Thanks - David
