Help with New Xbox 360 Slim wifi settings

I have a new XBOX360 slim, which is wifi 'n' compaitable.

I have virgin 10mb modem and seperate Dlink 615 router, even when I set the router to auto select b/g/n I am having the following problem.

When I set up the wireless connection, if I enable either 64 or 128bit WEP encryption the xbox will only connect 'g'

If I leave it unencrypted it selects 'n' on Xbox and 'g' on the laptop (but I obviously dont want to leave it unsecured), if I use WPA (at the dlink 615), my laptop will not connect to the wireless network, but the Xbox is 'n'

My laptop is a Sony vaio VGN-NR11M running windows XP.

Anybody got any idea of how I can set this up to receive 'n' on the Xbox360 and 'g' at the laptop with some secuirty.

Ant help would be appreciated.

wep is not compatible with wireless n

u need to use wpa.

Thanks for your input, I tried wpa but my 'g' laptop did not seem to want to connect to wpa.

Any advise on how to solve this would be appreciated
