My amp is entry lvl i guess it cant really do much thing-.-
Your avr should still give a resonable sound,however the weakest link maybe your speakers...if you can content yourself then fair play to 'ya...believe me it's a slippery slope..... :cheers:
Agreed GSB. If it is impossible to place rear speakers anywhere close to 'side/behind' then u are limited to a 3.1 system which can still sound ok. U may be able to hide a pair behind the seating to give a little surround effect. Looks like a speaker upgrade may be good but budget may not stretch yet. Let us know how things sound now maybe.
