Someone help me please!
I am so confused as to which interconnects to purchase. I am trying to choose between Townshend Audio's DCT 300 Isolda interconnect (which I already use), Nordost's SPM & Quattro Fil & Magnan's Signature as I have been reading rave reviews. The latter three would purchased if chosen, as used.
I currently have a Marantz SA11-S1 CD Player, Audiolab's 8000Q Pre-Amp & 8000M Monoblock Power Amps, KEF 205 Speakers and a Velodyne SPL-1200R Sub. Cables Townshend Audio's Isolda DCT Interconnect between the CD Player and Pre-Amp, Townshend Audio's EDCT Isolda Speaker Cables (Tri-Wire) and Van den Hul's The Second between the Pre & Power Amps and LAT AC-2 mains cables and 8 way dustribution. I am going to upgrade to tri-amplify the power amps with the same and get a Velodyne DD-18 sub instead.
My question is, I believe the Van den Hul's are suffocating my set up which overall I am happy with and want to change the interconnect but am confused as to which interconnects to use out of the above. If I change from Townshend (which I absolutely love) then I will also change the interconnect between the CD and pre-amp but will retain the speaker cables as I can not afford to upgrade to the versions above. I contact as you guys at What Hi-Fi have experience with the Audiolabs as they were your reference amps over 10 years ago. Please enlighten me as to the characteristics of the interconnects above and any other recommendations you could suggest for my set up bearing my musical tastes are very ecletic. I love a lot of Rock to classic rock. Joe Satriani, Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music including Rammstein. I like my system with with a broad soundstage and a lot of detail that you can here every nuance of vocals and musical instruments as if they were live in your room with plenty of bass slam and sparkling crisp treble that's not overtly bright but has beautiful and extended highs like LP sound. Please please help as unfortunately I am stationed abroad and there are no facilities to here the above and will spend money to order them from overseas
Kindest regards.

suffocating is a strong word .... if your system is set up properly, cables do not make a great difference IMHO (difference is minor) .... so perhaps your speakers need to be repositioned or need changing?

that is my opinion, but am sure you will get good advice on this forum ... I would start with trying to reposition your speakers and see if that makes any difference before spending money
