I recently bought this tv, and to be fair, im a little dissapointed with the sound. I know flat screen tvs have a tinny sound, but does anyone have any recommended settings to boost the sound slightly?

I would also be interested if anyone has some decent calibration settings for the picture. Its ok at the moment, I just would like to get the best from the tv.

Thanks for any comments.

I'd look at a basic soundbar with which to improve the sound. Far as picture goes, have you gone into the picture settings and tried using the picture wizard? It take under 5 minutes and can dramatically improve the image for your viewing environment.

Thanks, I will try the picture wizard.

Sound wise, at this moment in time I do not have the funds to buy a soundbar, hence why I want to make the most of what the tv can offer. Under the audio settings you can adjust the sound by tweaking the frequencies, ie 1khz, 100khz etc, but I dont know where to start...

I don't know that adjusting the eq would make much difference, as the old saying goes, you can't draw blood from a stone. However, I believe that model from LG has a headphone outlet, perhaps you could run an audio lead into either your Yamaha MCR140 of Cambridge Audio Minx. Not the ideal fix, but could potentially tide you over until a soundbar is a more viable option?

Thanks Tarxman - I never thought of that. I will see if I can connect my Minx Go (a great sounding bluetooth speaker, by the way).

If there is no headphone jack I suppose I will have to either put up with the sound or return it and try something else.

My previous 7 year old Panasonic LED TV had a much better sound - but then again 1/5 of it's size was taken up with the speakers!

Well, there is no headphone socket, so just have to do without for now. Picture quality is very good though!
