Im in the process of buying a Denon AVR 1910 amp but need to understand how it all works connection wise, my TV is on the wall and needed to know how many cables need to be connected to the TV from the amp so i can buy long cables long enough, this is what i have

Connections

TV - HDMI

DVD Player - Scart

PS3 - HDMI

Satelite - HDMI

Virgin Box - Scart

Also will all these connect into the AVR 1910 as i dont really understand there spec on Scart outputs

You won't be able to connect the scarts to the amp, unless the DVD player and virgin box can output Component Video (note: NOT Composite Video) over SCART and you buy a scart to component lead. If they don't you'll have to run the SCARTs to the TV unfortunately.

The PS3 and Satellite will connect to the amp via hdmi and then you connect one HDMI output to the TV.

Are you sure the Virgin Box doesn't have an HDMI output? If it does then you should use this to connect into the Denon amp.

To get full benefit of the TV and the AV amp I would buy a Blu Ray player in place of your DVD player.

That way you can connect all your sources into the amp and then have just one cable from the amp into your TV.

Have you got 5.1 speaker setup?
