Hello, please help.

Currently have two seperate Sony CD mega storage units, with approx. 500CDs. Considering getting the CD gigajuke system with 80Gb, however, not sold on it yet. Anyone offer advice about alternative, hard-drive based media storage devices? Preferably something that isn't a computer based item and can work independently of TVs & Computers. Have also considered an iPod classic through the B&W Zep for simplicity...doesn't need to have accompanying stereos but ideally should be capable of connectivity to other units.

Cheers for any helpful advice

Bear in mind that a reasonable system (definitely the Zeppelin) will communicate any compression, so a lossless format is preferable (e.g. Apple Lossless Codec, FLAC). ÿThese are typically 300-700Mb per album, so for 500 CDs I'd be looking at 500Gb as a minimum, more if you want space to expand your collection.
